what is the average temperature in Antartica?

Hi Derek,
It depends on where you are on the continent. At McMurdo, temperatures can have a wide range. The average temperature for the year is about 4 below (F). Remember what "average" means.
While we're there from November to December, temps can range well below zero with help from wind chills to perhaps a couple of days above 40 degrees. One thing is clear from all that I've been reading--there can be some very sudden and drastic changes in weather at any moment! I plan on being prepared and dressed for any "occasion"!
