Hello Mrs. Cross! I wanted to let you know that we have been reading your journal entries, looking at your pics, and watching the videos nearly every day. We've also been looking at the Daily Slog, which includes some good videos. The most recent pics were real cool...the kids are loving to see them. Tell Henry that we enjoyed the Crary Lab tour video from a week or two ago, it gave my first graders a real sense of the building and what goes on there. It's like we were really there!

We didn't particpate in the Webinar this morning (and if we did, it would have ran into our lunchtime), but I will be playing the audio and showing the slides next week. I already tried the archived part and it worked for me after school. I also just saw your video outside in the wind....thanks for doing that, it was a simple thing to film but the kids will gain a lot from seeing it "in person" rather than in a photo. You must be REALLY busy, so thanks for taking the time to write your thoughts, include pics, and even video. The kids freaked out when you filmed the seal up through the hole...you can hear it breathing loud and clear. I bet your heart stopped in awe!

We will continue to check in on you and thanks for your efforts. You've answered so many questions, that we are starting to run out of things to ask. Take care and good luck!

Hey Mrs. Hall and class! Thanks for the feedback! I'm trying to give everyone the best view of what it's like here....little video clips seem to be the best way. I'll do more with the footage when I return. (And while I'm thinking about it, the next webinar will run at 2 pm your time...hopefully on Dec. 8th. Stay tuned!) I hope to post a short movie showing Condition 2--we've been in that since last night. I'll play with it today as we are unable to fly to Bratina. If you can think of anything the kids might like to see...I'm hoping we'll still get to Cape Royds tomorrow, so be looking for penguin footage! I'm HOPING!!! Hope you enjoy the webinar!! And, hope to catch you next time!! Mrs. Cross

Hi Mrs Cross this is Ishanti from Mrs. Hall's class. I was wondering have you seen any polar bears?I like the picture with the dolphins face coming out of the ice. It was cute and funny. Take care and enjoy your trip.

Hi Ishanti!Just getting back from the field...remember, no polar bears down here except Koru. Have you seen him in some of my journal entries??? He's the only polar bear you'll ever see, and he's going home with me when I leave! The picture and footage was of a Weddell seal! They can be quite large!! Glad you're enjoying the pictures and the journals!!
