Hi Brandon,It really is amazing!  I posted some advice in my response to Ann - so check that out.  I brought an insulated mug here but then I bought a second one at the McMurdo Station store so I can have one in my dorm room and one in the lab.  I also brought some string lights for the dorm room to brighten it up.  Bob and Stacy gave us each a tie-dye pillow case that also jazzes it up.  I didn't bring a poster - but you might want one for the wall.  Also - more for Ann - bring a hair dryer!  I'm hoping my roommate has one when she arrives.  If you like good coffee, bring your own with a way to make it.  Dena used a French press and I am using a Melita filter and disposable coffee filters.  You cannot count on the coffee in the galley for actual caffeine content... I'll add more as I think of it!
