Thanks for writing!!!That is a really good question, I have mentioned the Sound but I have not explained what it was very well.
A sound in the ocean is kind of like a bay, which is a part of a sea or ocean that is mostly surrounded by land. If you look at this map of McMurdo Sound area, you can see that the part of the water that is surrounded by a lot of land is called McMurdo Sound.
