Dear,Mr.Beckendorf

Did you like it in Antarctica? Did you see any seals or penguins?  Your lucky because I am one of Maren Nelson`s students. From,Becca Miller

Hi Becca,Thanks for writing!!!
Today we flew in a helicopter out to a weather station to fix it. On the way out we saw penguins and seals on the edge of the sea ice, swimming beside the edge of the ice was a killer whale. I took some pictures from the helicopter but they did not come out very well.
The weather station is right beside a penguin rookery (where they have their nests). There were thousands of penguins there. When we were walking back to the helicopter, several penguins came walking right past us. I am loading some of the pictures that I took into my photo gallery and into my journal.
I look forward to hearing from you again.

Dear,Mr.BeckendorfHow many pictures did you take? Maren Nelson and her students are studying Antarctica. We are looking in your journal. We all like the pictures. By the way is the skull an elephat seals skull?

Hi Becca,I probably took 150 pictures on that one day. Unfortunately it was hard to take them from the helicopter so a lot of them did not turn out.
The skull is definitly from a seal, but from a leopard seal, not an elephant seal.
