Hi Mr. Beckendorf,

This is Ms. Berne-Rannow's class.  We've got some fun things going on here. On Friday we tried searching for lost people with buckets on heads, just like you did!  It was hard to find them, but we had a lot of fun trying!  Staying together on the rope made it very hard to move around.  But we know that is important  so we didn't get lost too.  We also pretended to do dog sledding.  Eight kids pulled the sled with four kids on it. We did a lot of laughing.  Thank you for telling us why dogs are no longer allowed on Antarctica.  We think that is a good thing because we don't want the seals to get diseases.  It is so cold here today, that we couldn't go out for recess because the windchill was -17.  But that's ok, because we like to play games or draw for indoor recess.  Well, it is time to go now.  Bye!

Kirk Beckendorf

Brrr, It is much colder there than here!!!  I am so glad that you tried those two activities. I hope it helps you understand how difficult it could be to find someone lost in a storm. Imagine trying to do that with the wind blowing really hard.
Student sledding sounds like a lot of fun, did you use a real sled?.
Thanks for telling me about your activities.
Mr. B.
