Sorry, Those are good guesses, but that is not what is in the picture.Great questions.
My favorite part of what I have been learning is... is learning about how many things that scientists are studying here and how involved it is to do research in Antarctica. The team of scientist that I am working with are here to make sure that the weather stations are all working, because so many people depend on the information. But other scientists are using balloons that are larger than a football stadium to studying particules coming from space, other scientist are studying the glaciers, others are studying the soils, others are studying the penguins and other living things. So my favorite part is learning about all of these different projects.  I hope that makes sense.
There is definitely more ice. In some places it is 3 miles thick and on average it is about a mile and a half thick.
For recreation I will go for hikes, we have watched some movies, and SHelley and Jonas played Ping Pong yesterday.
I was on several planes (for about 24 hours) flying here. I slept, watch ed movies, read and was bored!!!!
I have been stranded in storms, we have been for the past two days since none of the helicopters or planes are flying now.
Thanks for writing again!!!
