why can you only go to the store once a year?

Hi GraceSorry that I wasn't clear. What I meant about going to the store was that once a year a ship brings supplies to McMurdo. Although airplanes do fly in and out of McMurdo all of the time, alot of supplies only come by ship. So it is kind of like only being able to go to the store once a year.
I have only seen one whale.
