Hi Mr.B,

Brooke and I read 1-20-08 and think that the speices is a Killer whale.

We thought of that because a few days ago you wrote that you saw a Killer whale out your window but you couldn't get a real good picture!Wink

Quistions:

-Why is the snow so deep in the South Pole?

-My brother wants to know how many peguins you have seen?

-Have you seen more than one type of penguin?

-What is the biggest diffrence between Antarctica and America and NZ to Antarctica?

Your answer and reasoning makes perfect sense. However, I was wrong the other day. I am now pretty sure that what I saw the other day was not a killer whale. Here is another hint, the picture is of a type of baleen whale.Because it is so cold at the South Pole, what little snow falls there just piles up deeper and deeper, it never melts. Over millions of years it has become very deep.
I have only seen penguins twice here in Antarctica. There first place where I saw them there were thousands, the second time I saw one.
The big difference between Antarctica and NZ and North America, is how this continent is almost completely covered in ice and snow and there is almost no life on the continent.
