Hey Kirk!

Thank-you for answering all my questions about the helo and ship; I feel I am hogging  your attention; yesterday at school I sent out a general e-mail reminding everyone to tune in to you when they return from holiday so hopefully your Blanco traffic will increase. We will be looking at tree rings when we return, with the main lesson being what they can tell us about changes over time, I of course will let the kiddos fiqure that out. I was thinking about your comments about the different colors of ice you have seen and of course ice core samples are also "time machines". I will be showing the excellent Antarctica video for kids that you gave me, on Wednesday as a tie in to our changes over time unit which finally leads me to my question, in the video it tells and as you alluded to in your post, the supply ship arrives once a year there, but surely you have fresh fruit and veggies occasionally there, in your early post you showed yourself surrounded by pallets of something in the cargo plane, was any of that food?

I and all the elementary teachers have been graciously allotted a building down the hill to use for a Science Lab and now it has real lab tables (the same lab tables used by my 35 year old when she went here and still in great shape). I am slowly moving some of my stuff in there and hopefully I will utilze the lab in a way that it will better prepare yours and Donna's and Pam's future science students. I am taking my students down there Monday on their first day back so wish me luck!

Thank-You for being an inspiration to all of us Kirk!
