Hi Mr. Taterka! I have been reading your journal entires and I'm very interested in your trip. I hope you had a good time. I know that the carbon released from melted permafrost effects the climate negatively, but does it have any small benefits to the local environment? Does the carbon released have any impact towards with the air the citizens inhale in Alaska? Lastly, how did you and your team enjoy the whole camping aspect of the trip? See you soon! Sierra -
Good questions! First, everyone enjoyed the camping aspect of the trip. That's always the best way to get to know the environment. There's no impacts from breathing CO2 from thawing permafrost, but there's lots of indirect effects. There's almost always some positive and some negative effect from anything that happens; a lot of it depends on your priorities, your point of view, and your time frame. We'll definitely talk more about this.
