Hey Mr. T, I'm truly fascinated by the work that you did on the Tundra and I'm shocked that I was completely unaware of the permafrost melting until I saw your video. My question is whether the Tundra will ever return to its colder state, especially before the 2000's, and what has to occur for it to happen. Thank You! Nick Dobson

The earth goes through long-term heating and cooling cycles, so at some point things should cool down but it will probably be a long time. It seems unlikely that any cooling would occur by the end of this century. At any rate, to slow down warming there would have to be a decrease in burning fossil fuel and CO2 emissions. There's a big international report on this coming out soon which we'll look at in class.
