Hi Maggie!

Found you on the BEST site!  Sent you an email asking for pictures, then I found your pictures, so, as usual, I'm a little behind myself.

I emailed you a question, but I'll paraphrase it here: Will you have video conferencing capability from the ship?  I have an iMac in my classroom that has a camera in it, and I believe it has software for conferencing if you have a mac with similar software.

See you soon back at Kalama?

Hi Ben! Nope, we don't have video conferencing capabilities on the ship. I will be posting daily journal articles and pictures through a satelite telephone connection. Even the webinars, although will be live audio, the pictures will have been submitted earlier.
There is video conferencing capabilities at McMurdo station in Antarctica. Later on during next school year, I can connect with you to see my new friend and fellow PolarTREC teacher Elke Bergholz do research on the atmosphere of Antarctica. You will really enjoy these expeditions and your students will learn lots and lots!
