Hi Jackie! It took us about 30 minutes to get out of the harbor. It was nice and slow and safe.
What are we looking for? How long will it take?
Right now we are looking for the ice, because that is where we will find some of the animals we are looking for. Also, that is where the scientists can take samples of ice and newly thawed ice to see what happens after it thaws and what nutrients it contains.
We believe it will be a few more days. Maybe tomorrow night if we are extremely lucky.
No I am not frozen. I am toasty warm in all the good gear loaned to me from VECO Arctic Outfitters, NOAA, and the boots you all signed, of course.
Be good, study hard, test well. The best class wins BIG!
warmly,

Mrs. P
