Saw your msg to Robin...with no reply, so I thought I'd reply just for grins.  How long are you there?  To answer your question.  My favorite experience at sea was dramamine, and if that didn't work, then champagne.  I did catch a halibut once that straightened out my huge hook.  Glad I lost it.  It probably would have eaten or beaten me to death.
