Hullo, Robyn! from the frigid MidWest- Boonshoft Museum of Discovery, Dayton, OH, to be exact!  How is your weather?  How is the sampling?  Finding anything "interesting" (that is code for "What is that?!")?  Have you gone on a helicopter ride?  How are the walruses et al?  Stay warm! Jan Franklin, Boonshoft Museum of Discovery

The weather is roughly 26 degrees F. The waters are smooth and still no ice. The sampling is going on continuously day and night. The only down time scientists have is when the ship is moving to the next station. Besides water, there are mud cores and plankton tows also being done. No helicopter ride yet, but the seal party will be taking their first one today. Thanks Jan!!!
