Bering Ecosystem Change

What is the most interesting thing that you learned? How did the temp change since you have been there?

The temperatures have been fairly consistent since we left Dutch Harbor. Chilly! 5F with 20mph winds on average. One of the most interesting things I have learned is how surprising it is for an entire ecosystem to be so utterly dependent upon sea ice algae.
