Hello,

What is the lowest temperature recorded by your team?

Hi Ryan-
Well- this depends on what type of temperature you are talking about. The temperature of the air has gotten down to -17 degrees Celsius, without wind chill (which can make it feel even colder), on our cruise. That's pretty cold!! This makes doing science difficult, especially when you are working outside with water- everything freezes up!! The temperature of the water, even on the bottom of the Bering Sea, is usually -1 to -2 degrees Celsius right now- because it is saltwater, it has a lower freezing point than freshwater.
