I think there isn't a tundra here in Huntington Beach because there and more trees and it doesn't ever snow here.

Just one question about permafrost though. When there is permafrost, is it only because the temperature difference; or is it because of the amount of sunlight, oxygeon, and carbon dioxide is generated and used in a specific area? Thanks

A very good question! The temperature is the main factor. But the temperature is affected by the amount and angle of the sunlight. It can get colder here because the winter days are very short and the season is long. The sun's rays hit the earth near the poles at an angle that allows the sun's energy to escape, so there is more cold. The oxygen and carbon dioxide don't have much to do with this.Thanks,
