Good question again! There are many challenges working in the field and working in a place like Alaska. The cold and weather is probably the biggest challenge of them all. It is had to even write something down when you have been out in the cold all day and the wind is blowing. The cold also affects the instruments and causes them to break or the batteries to run down too fast. I guess that is really why polar research take so much time!Thanks,
