Hi Mr.wood this is alissa from per.2 and i was wondering how fast can the dogs go and are there specific words you have to say to make them go left,right,or to make them go faster or slower.can't wait to read more of your jounals:)

Good questions. The dogs can run pretty fast depending on how good the snow is. Some teams run at more than 20 miles an hour. There are some standard commands for the dogs. Usually "gee" means to turn right, "haw" is for turning left, "mush" means to get going, and "whoa" means to stop. Most of the folks that I have spoken with use these types of calls for their dogs.Thanks,
