Hi! It seems like this team of scientists is collecting a number of different types of data to learn about carbon being released in the tundra. I wonder if you have any preliminary results? If not, how long will this data monitoring continue? Thanks, Lucy Coleman, Sacramento, CA

Hi Lucy, Thanks for the question. Here's a link to Sue Natali's paper that reviews some of the preliminary results: http://www.lter.uaf.edu/pdf/1539_Natali_Schuur_2011.pdf
In addition you can find the link by going back to my page and clicking on resources. The article title is: Effects of experimental warming of air, soil and
permafrost on carbon balance in Alaskan tundra. Results indicate I feel clearly that warmed tundra increases CO2 emissions by a surprisingly substantial amount. The data has been collected for the past 5 years and will continue to be collected for as long as possible into the future. The Schuur Lab is looking into expanding the experiment to other venues.
