Hey Mr. Wood, it's Elaine L. from your 4th period Science class. It's been a couple of weeks since you've left and everyone misses you. I wanted to ask you a question about the Alaskan Tribes. About the Alaskan Tribes, have you seen one and is there one? If there are one, what is the tribe called? If you read this question please reply :]. -Elaine L.

John Wood

Thanks for the question and the comments. I miss you guys too. I have not met any native people yet. There are several groups or tribes of native people in Alaska, but so far I'm not close to any. I will let you know if I do meet any natives.Cheers,
Mr. Wood

When you measured the snow in your picture, what was the longest measure?

John Wood

The snow ranged from several feet in the drifted areas to just an inch or so in other areas. Most of the snow has melted at this point, but we had a pretty good dusting last night.Cheers,
Mr. Wood

Dear Mr. Wood, sorry about my last question and not writing my name and period. It's Elaine Le from period 4. I read your newest journal entry on May 9th, 2011. I wanted to ask why you set up a base for chambers? What was it for?-Elaine Le

John Wood

Thanks for remembering your name. Good question. The base is placed in the ground and worked in to the soil, after it thaws out, so that when the chamber is placed on top the two will make a better seal so that when the chamber samples the air it has inside, it won't get mixed with the air outside and ruin the sample. The ground is very uneven here, so it we just put the chamber down it would have spaces along the bottom where the air could flow in and out during the sampling. Does that make sense?Mr. Wood

Dear Mr. Wood. Yes it does make sense. Thank you for explaining. Plus, I've been looking at your pictures and I noticed that Christian kind of looks like Johnny Depp.

John Wood

Great! Yes I think Christian is related to Johnny. :)Mr. Wood
