Hi Mr. Wood!

This is Shannon from your period 6 class. Sorry I haven't gotten back to you, but I have been reading your journals. Hope your having a great time and what your doing sounds really fun. I was talking to Paula Dell and she said to say hi to you. Anyway, I have a few questions for you. What are the plants called that are under the plexiglass boxes? If different plants were under the boxes, would that make a change in your experiment? Hope to here back from you soon! I have learned so much already.

Good questions. The plants inside the chambers are the same plants that are outside and all around the area. The chambers have been placed over parts of the tundra that are really just like to rest of the areas. In this way we can sample smaller areas and get a representation of what is going on over the whole area. We also will be looking at the plants in the chambers and making observations on their color and appearance, and compare them with the surrounding areas. That way we have an idea if our experiment is changing the way the plants, and tundra interact with the atmosphere. Does that help?Cheers,
Mr. Wood
