Hi Mr. Wood it's William from your 6th period class I know I haven't contacted you in I think about a week but I am now! Question 1: How much CO2 is the graph showing? Answer: Well if I'm understanding everything correctly it is showing 386 to 388 parts per million of CO2 and it is mostly in the 387 area.

Question 2: What time of day was this data collected? Answer: Well by looking at the graphs on your May 12th journal it looks like the data was taken while the sun was coming up since the parts per million is pretty near the numbers for your 2nd graph on the may 12th journal which was when the sun was up. So I'm guessing that the sun was just about done rising or just about done setting.

Question 3: What will happen in 2 more hours? Why? Answer: Well Mr. Wood I think this one was easier than question 2. Since the numbers on the graph are close to the numbers you see on your 2nd graph on your May 12th journal I think in about 2 hours the CO2 levels will go down due to the sun going up making CO2 levels go down as they did in your graph.

I hope I did a good job and I hope you are having a nice time in Healy collecting lots of data. So...are you going to eat the grizzly burger from Rose's that you were talking about during the skype today?

John Wood

You did a great job on the questions! Good thinking. I think you understand that as the sun comes up the plants begin to photosynthesize and taking up more CO2. Of course the respiration from decomposition is still going on, and increases in the higher temperatures, but in this area of the tundra the in take is more than the out put during the day at this time of year. We are getting alot of work done and collecting lots of data. I don't think I will be having a grizzly burger anytime soon! IT was great talking with your guys today at the event. Thanks,
Mr. Wood
