Hi Susy, Great journals, awesome details. Love extreme archaeology! We were doing that up in Barrow back in '08. Hard core science, all good fun.

I wanted to let you, and your readers know, that there are loads of opportunities to do cushy archaeology back in the lower 48. I've been volunteering in VT with the US Forest Service on a project to learn more about native people's tool making using local quartzite. The site is next to a beautiful pond along the Appalachian Trail. A remarkable find happened on Sat., extending the occupation time back 4,000 years!

I'll post a full journal soon. Happy backfilling and safe travels. Frank Kelley Nuvuk Arch. Project - 2008 Barrow, AK

Thanks-It was a great project and lots of fun doing 'extreme' archaeology. Who knew that there were projects you could do in more temperate environments??!!
