Early Spring Plankton and Benthos

Hi.

Just wondering if you were able to get out of Dutch last night and get home? Or, are you stranded in Anchorage? Hope that you have safe travels and drop us an email when you get home :)

Hello Janet-
Mount Redoubt has caused many travel challenges but we were lucky. The early evening flight was the last one to leave Anchorage as the volcano erupted an hour before our scheduled departure. Some people have been stranded in Anchorage for 5 days waiting for an open flight to leave.  I arrived home on time happy to see my family. Re-entry to the surroundings has been a bit odd. I was so used to seeing open, white space and hearing a lot of ship noises that seeing variations in landscapes and hearing quiet were confusing to my senses. Slowly my body is adjusting to a still, not rocking bed, and stairs instead of ladders. Now I wonder if the trip was all a dream as it was so different to what I normally see and do.
