Hi, Mrs. Wheeler! Does the snow ever melt in the Artic? How do you get water? We (my class) were talking about you in Science this morning and went on the PolarTREC website and the end of the class! How do you post things in your journal there? Do you have a Laptop or something?

Anyway, we miss you!

Hi Paige-Within the next 24 hours, we will be in the ice. Right now we are in the Bering Sea heading North. Ivan, a scientist, who is from Alaska, tells me that some of the snow does melt in the Arctic. On the boat they are able to desalinate water from the sea which means to remove the salt from the water. I take very quick showers to conserve the water. Posting the journals was easier on land than on the boat. We have very little bandwidth on the boat which makes posting a bit tricky. I can answer questions with my laptop, though, if I receive an email notice. Hello to Mrs. Stauffer's class. Ms. Wheeler

Congratulations Deanna! What an exciting adventure you are on! I am sure your family and students are so proud of you. I can't wait to show my second graders at Diggs Elementary this website. They will really enjoy it! Be safe and see you in Nanjemoy.
