Hi Ms. Wheeler, Shelby from J.C. Parks, did you ever not see land? how many ice burgs did you see? did you have to go thru any ice burgs?

Thanks

Deanna Wheeler

Hi Shelby-I do see land at times. We were able to see the continent of Asia and the continent of North Americal at the same time, yesterday. It was pretty cool. Alaska mainland was about 25 miles away. We will see land t times throughout the rest of the cruise. Look for pictures of the Diomedes Islands in upcoming journals/videos.
Thanks for the question-
Ms. Wheeler

Hi Shelby-I have some new information for you. We are in more ice, not really icebergs, but pieces from larger sheets of ice from an ice floe on the Arctic Ocean. Some of the ice we see is made from ice that has taken several years to form. Usually it looks bluer in color. Other ice, new ice or yearly ice, is less colorful.
And, yes, most of the time we do not see land.
Thanks for great questions!
