Heya, Victor from HR and P2 here, was doing summary, and found this.

The 11-person team will live and work at the Mt. Erebus Volcano Observatory, a research station situated 3400 meters (12,451 ft) high near the summit crater of the volcano.

Mount Erebus has a summit elevation of 3,794 meters (12,448 ft)

WHOA. WHAT HAPPENED THERE?

If 3,400 meters = 12,451 ft, then how does

 3,794 meters = 12,448 ft ?

Tongue outThank you.

Victor,
Thanks for the comment.  The numbers are pretty close.  Sometimes different sources will give numbers that are a little different.  The observatory sits lower than that from the crater.  Good eye!
Later,
Mr. Wood
