Erebus Volcano Antarctica

Dear Mr.Wood,

When you get the video camera fixed to view Mount Erebus's crater will the live video be on another site? Are you staying at the Fang on Mount Erebus when you reach the volcano? If more molten material gets dropped on a volcanic bomb by an erruption will the bomb be covered in larger crystals or would it just be a bigger volcanic bomb that has a lot of tiny crystals? Please write back soon!

Cynthia,
We will try and fix the camera at the same site that it has been.  On Thursday we are scheduled to fly to the Fang where we will stay for a couple of days before moving to the top.  This gives our bodies a chance to get used to the alitude.  I think that it would just be a larger mass of material.  The crystals have done all of their real growing by the time they leave the crater.
