Hey John

Hello Its me again Rosaleo, how are you have you been doing? Ive be doing pretty good here at school. We also found out that the sediments in the pond that we collected had some tiny little living organisms. It sounds like your going to be experiencing alot of things when you go off to the Erebus Volcano In Antarctic. What kinda of volcanos do you like to study? Also do you get to go up close to the volcano an study it? Do you study the lava from the volcano to? Can you tell how old the Erubus volcano is?? Well until next time buh bye..

Rosaleo John

Rosaleo,
Good to hear from you again.  Sounds like your sediment experiments have been going well.  What kind of science is your favorite?  When we get to Antarctica, we will be having survival training, so that we can be safe on the mountain.  When we are ready, we will take helicopters up to top.  We will have a camp at about 12,000 ft. on the volcano.  We plan to work on many spots on the volcano for about 5 weeks.  I'm am not sure yet how old Mt. Erebus is, but I will find out from my research team.  One of the great things about Mt. Erebus is that it has a lava lake inside the crater. The lake throws out pieces of lava almost everyday!  We have to be very careful!  Keep in touch.
Later,
Mr. Wood
