Dear Mr. Wood,

How are you doing in Antarctica?  How cold is it? We started the section on vocanoes and I wanted to ask you, what type of volcano is Mt. Erebus??  How deep is the magma chamber underneath Mt. Erebus?  Thanks for reading!!!

Hello Erin,
Things are good!  It has been pretty cold but not so bad.  On the mountain the  temperatures have dropped to -20 degrees, and with the wind it feels much colder!  I won't tell you yet what kind of volcano Erebus is.  We hope that the experiment we are running will tell us how deep the magma chamber is.
Cheers,
Mr. Wood
