Tim, Are you excited to go to Russia? What kind of new outdoor gear have you purchased to prepare?

Great question Kristin... I guess the bow-tie with snow flakes on it that I got for my birthday doesn't count! (Check out my other birthday present that is posted on my journal page!) I have a lot of cold weather gear already, some of it I used when I climbed Mt. Rainier in Washington a few years ago.
As far as getting extreme cold weather gear and equipment, I have had many emails and several calls with CH2M Hill Polar Services, this company will help provide most of my heavy gear.
It is exciting to be preparing to travel to Siberia in the winter!
