Hi Tim Martin, Thanks for the great video and images of the drilling and core samples. We just linked up with your site during my igneous rock talk today. The students loved seeing the samples and we leave tomorrow for our trip to Pliot Mt and Vulcan quarry where they will be able to take hard rock core samlples home. I can't wait to see the live broadcast, but we don't know whether the GDS server will allow so many of us on at once. I think the IT department is working on it. Thanks for all the great info and images. Cindy Rayburn 4th grade at GDS

I hope you had fun at the rock quarry... I wish you could be here so I could talk with you about the igneous rocks that are all around the crater! The best place to study geology is where there are lots of rocks... whether in Siberia or in a North Carolina rock quarry. Study hard and when you get to my class, the unit on rocks and minerals will be easy!
