What color(s) do you see in the ice? Are there times/situations where you see memorable color?

I think the colors of the ice that I saw... I will never forget. It ranges from blue to black to blue-green to white to completely transparent. (See the photo on April 11) I actually took many photos of this ice... it was so beautiful...
As I said in an earlier post, I have not seen a lot of bare ice as most of the lake is covered by snow more than 1 meter deep. We found a spot with clear ice and yesterday I went out to photograph it. Zhenya, the vestikhot driver motioned for me to stop, he then led me over to another place on the ice where there was a large expanse of open ice. To stand on and look down through the two meter thick ice is something I will never forget.
