Dear Mr. Martin, Do you have hair yet? As in on your head? As in really curly hair? If you do, you should put a picture of it on your next journal. Hope you are having fun. When do you start drilling? What is the temperature where you are? Right now, as I type, it is 67 degrees with sunshine (and there is a robin's nest outside my kitchen window). What did you name the Bengal? You never told us. Stay inside, don't get frostbite, and say hello to the penguins for us.

Vivienne,
Hair... a new hair pic will be coming soon... not curly...just stubble.  You can keep up with the temperature and the status of the project on the journal... We will get up early tomorrow 4/1 for the chopper flight to the lake... good to hear about sping back home.   Look for pictures of the bengal when I finally arrive at lake E.

Hey T-Mart
Are the birds arriving to breed on the tundra yet? Or is this a little too early? Must be loads of waders, ducks, geese there? Cranes? Shoot some for us! (Photographically of course).
Pevek rubbish gave us a good laugh but the dog was nice

Jaap,
(Is this the Jaap from NC State? or another?)
As far as wildlife or birds... right now the only non-human life I have seen in camp are two camp dogs that belong to one of the vestikhot drivers. The snow is still deep and the temperature is still quite cold... For the week I spent in Pevek, I saw 3 ravens from a distance and one small bird on our window sill for only a few seconds. I will do my best to get pictures of any birds or wildlife that I see.
