I have orange FDX boots which had been used by the Australian Antarctic Division decades ago, which look identical to the blue FDX boots currently issued from the Christchurch CDC(same felt inner sole and quilted liners too).

Was colour used to indicate different thermal characteristics (the way white bunny boots are designed for more extreme weather than black bunny boots)?
