OMG - what is it like sleeping in the snow trench? Don't you wish you had a teddy bear? Deb

Deb,I was surprised at how comfortable the snow trench was.  I was very warm in the night and it was very quiet.  Some of those who slept in tents said they were awakened by the tent flapping in the wind when it came up in the middle of the night, but I didn't even hear the wind! 
I was a little worried when I went to sleep that during the night the roof would fall in on me.  I had to widen the trench a little because when I tried to lay down, my shoulders touched the sides and it made me feel claustrophobic.  Once I'd widened the trench, however, I had problems cutting snow blocks that were wide enough to fit over the top.  But, the snow blocks froze in place quickly and ended up being very stable.
I'm not so sure about a teddy bear, but having a kitty with me would have been nice.
