We want to know more about the earthquakes under the glacier.

How strong are the average earthquakes in the area? Dylan Do earthquakes happen naturally under the glacier where you will be? Eric How large is the glacier where you will be? Caleb How will you access the glacier? Diego When the earthquakes happen, how will it affect the scientists working under the glacier? Are you safe? Spencer Why is measuring earthquakes in a glacier important to our earth? Emma

Thank you for answering our questions. We're looking forward to reading your journal.

Thanks Dylan, Eric, Caleb, Diego, Spencer, Emma so much for your questions, the scientists here are not really looking at the earth shaking, instead what they are doing is looking at the way the ice shakes. That is because the ice slips over the rock in funny ways, kind of like sliding on the floor in your socks and finding a bump. this is important because the way it shakes lets us predict the structure of glaciers and possibly how long they might be around.
