Diego, the drilling does not affect the glacier, it is so big and the holes are so small that it is like you getting a shot in the arm from a doctor. we get wi fi from a phone that is outside the tunnel entrance that beams into a nearby city. it is 88kb, very very slow.Olivia, we have been melting for five days now and will continue to. the ice oozes like cream cheese pushed between a bagel. I feel like i can get trapped if i stay too long inside there.
Eliza, the temperature is perfect for gummy bears. they will not melt here. it is about 32 F or 0 C, it is just at the freezing point. LIke a day in oregon in January.
Spencer, there is so much water coming out I never counted.. It is like a fire hose always on for five days. like imagine your bathtub and you turn it on, it fills in about five minutes. this hose would fill it in about ten seconds.
Garrett, well today I got soaked in the tunnel, so that was a shower, but there is one shower where I sleep. and one bathroom
Bridget, two more folks came yesterday. they are from pennsylavania (oops, spell that for me), they will fly around with a helicopter in two days looking at the glacier with radar. we have eight folks now.
Tyrek, the clothes I wear depend on what I am doing, if I am holding the super soaker I were rain gear with rubber boots, if I am hauling stuff I wear overalls. If I walk down the tunnel I wear sneakers and a rain coat.
The gummy bears have told me that something happened a long time ago in these tunnels. That it was not an accident they met me at the airport. They need help with some things.
