Hi,I spend every year looking for different opportunities to become a better teacher.  When I applied for this program I only knew it would be to go somewhere at either the North Pole or the South Pole. I applied thinking that doing research would help me teach students the scientific method and how it is really used in the field.   Inever even thought of Greenland. But that is where the researcher who also joined PolarTREC was going.  We were paired up together since my interest was to be part of a team studying life in extreme environments.  That got me to Greenland.  What a tremendous opportunity!!
