There were some very cold days, but not like I was expecting. Since we were not on the ice cap, we did not have below zero weather. Right on the ocean made it cold with fierce winds sometimes, but a few days we were able to wear long sleeved shirts without jackets. But only a few days.
And it was hard to hold most of the birds when trying to draw blood. some squirmed more than others. It was tricky too, because their bodies would heat up under stress and in a humans hand, and if they got too warm they could die. So we had to be careful and quick. there were also a few days when cathcing and holding the birds was hard because of the cold.
Then a few times we had to stop and take a break in order to warm up.
Thanks for asking.
