Hi Missy,

Great job with journals and photos! Looks like fun and a lot of walking!

I love the audio about gear. I love the idea of chocolate too!

How many layers are you wearing on an average day? (I do realize that things change dramatically!)

May I suggest that in your teaser window you write your teaser and then skip a few lines and add that you have an audio.

The PolarTREC team did that for one of my video's and I liked the idea.

Have fun Missy and keep up the great work,

Elizabeth

HI Elizabeth
Welcome Home and congrats on a terrific Journal! I wish I had your photography skills, although the birds are few up here. Whenever I see an Arctic tern I think of PolarTREC and our expeditions.
Thanks for the tip on the audiofiles. I'll be sure to do that.
Chocolate is a BIG deal up here when we're out in the field. We each get 6 squares at lunch and we graze on it during the afternoon for a quick energy boost. I'm not a big chocolate fan, although I was quite surprised on how effective it was in getting my energy level back up.
A typical day would include a base layer, outer layer and a wind proof layer. We take extra shirts, fleeces, gloves, socks, and hats with us into the field since the weather is so changeable. The temps are not bad once we are moving, although the wind can be pretty harsh.

Thanks for the question & tip!
Enjoy being home!
Missy
