If Jesse is not able to get enough samples what will happen to his project?

Hello,
Thanks for your question!
There are definitely challenges to doing field work where you are reliant on a number of factors in order for things to go smoothly. Fortunately, at this point coring is going well, but stay tuned for the rest of the coring story!

Not getting Jesse's samples was not really an option - his project is just too interesting and exciting to not do!  Most of the samples were collected as part of group effort (Anthony deserves special recognition).  The rest of the samples (with a fixed ice corer) were recovered yesterday (a very long but very good day) by Jesse, Leo and Al)  - we got back to the station after 1 AM last night.   We  had two polar bear at the station this morning - after the group had left to return to Longyearbyen so Jesse and I are station bound until we are sure they are out of the area.  Jesse and I plan to core two other ice cored moraines later today to complete his sampling.
