Hey there Ms. Brown, I'm lovin your 'b-log. What is the oldest structure at McMurdo that is still in use today? I'm just curious - I hope this isn't too hard to figure out, if it is, just estimate something. Thanks! Cheers, Jorge

Hi Jorge,Thank you for your question! From what I've learned, it seems like the
oldest structure is the coffee house that went up in 1959. It is
believed that it was originally a club for military personnel (I need to
check on this information though).
Of course, Discovery Hut, which was built for Scott's expedition in
1902, is still standing. This building is no longer used though.
There is another building, "Hut A", which was built in 1956 for the
Tran-Antarctic Expedition. It is located near Scott Base, the New
Zealand station. Other records state that "building 63", used for
recreation, is the oldest building here.
I'll keep asking around and see if I can get a final answer!
Sincerely,
Michelle
