Hello Ms.Brown, my name is David Worman and I am in Ms. Kherberg's 1st period class at O.henry and I was wondering why does the milk of a seal has so much more fat content than any other type of milk?

Michelle Brown

Hi David!
The milk of a seal has more fat than other animals because baby seals need to fatten up quickly to stay warm and build up enough blubber to get into the water. Their blubber is a major adaptation for them to stay warm, and they are able to accumulate blubber by increasing their fat content.
Great question!
Sincerely,
Ms. Brown
