Have you found any information in Antarctica that could lead to how life formed on Earth?

Dear Mrs. Green's class,
My research team was collecting data to measure the impact of people working at the McMurdo area.  We were not collecting ancient ice cores that could have some of those answers.  To answer your question though, geoscience theory supports that basic life dates to cyanobacterias discovered in rocks that are over 3.5 billion years old during the Cambrian period.  However, it will be during the Paleozoic Era, some 544 million years ago, when life began to flourish  in the form of reptiles, fish and amphibians.
Thanks for your question.
