From your fans in Portable #4 at James Monroe: the kids say the dog is cute. How long did the packing really take? The video was funny and we really liked the pictures. How did you do that special fast effect? How long will it take you to get to Antarctica? What kinds of things were in all those piles you packed? Was it fun packing all that stuff? Were your arms hurting when you were done? Who was your vieographer? How many people will be on your team? When your were done did you just sit on the sofa and take a rest?
We are following your with high interest. Keep up the good work. Mrs. Peterson and the gang.

Hello James Monroe at Portable #4! Thanks for all of the great questions!
Unfortunately, the duffle shuffle was just the beginning of what has turned into several packing and repacking events as we have made the long journey to Antarctica. I am now ready to sit on the couch but I will have no time for that since my adventure has just begun!! The first time I packed, for the video, it took me about 1 hour. Now that I have lots more gear it is taking me even longer! Imagine that. My arms certainly hurt after the first bout of packing but now I am getting used to it so it isn't that bad. However, I am really looking foward to making the last leg of my journey out to WAIS Divide where I can unpack in my tent for the last time!
In regards to making the video, computers are quite helpful and there is a secret little function for speeding up the video. Nothing really that special but hopefully when I come to visit you all in the spring I can show you the trick! It is lots of fun to make the videos and I, for the most part, have been doing all of the filming.

Keep the questions coming!

Best,
Heidi
