Did you get to hold all 600 birds you toke pictures of?

Hi John- thanks for the note!I didn't hold any of the birds I've photographed. I use a telephoto lens to photograph them doing their thing in the wild. I do sometimes visit bird banding stations where wild birds are captured, measured, and banded before their re-release. At those times I sometimes get detailed close-ups of birds being held by licensed bird banders for study. There's a lot to be learned at bird banding stations- if you have one to visit nearby some day I think you would enjoy it!
